Several months ago while attending the National Black MBA Conference, I had the pleasure of listening to a man speak by the name of Kevin Carroll. I was blown away. Kevin has written a book entitled Rules of the Red Rubber Ball which is a small inspirational book whose goal is to support people to find their red rubber ball (their passion) and then gives tips (rules) to support the reader to stay on course. He also encourages people to keep playing like we did when we were kids. I keep many books on my nightstand but finally read Kevin’s last night. I highly recommend it. Because it is a small book, it is possible to read it in one sitting and not only are their some great pearls, the style of the book is fun and easy to read. Like Kevin, I also ask What is YOUR red rubber ball?
The master in the ART of living makes little distinction between his work and his p l a y, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion.
He hardly knows which is hcihw.
He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is WORKING or p l a y i n g.
To him he’s always doing both.
