a conversation in leadership

A powerful speech delivered by Xerox CEO Ursula Burns to MIT students.  It is a long video but if you can hang in there, you will definitely find it worthwhile!

URSULA BURNS – A CONVERSATION IN LEADERSHIP

Her key points:

  1. Be authentic (yes!)
  2. Listen enough to hear what people really want (what they say and don’t say)
  3. Get followership
  4. TAKE A STAND.  Declare something.  Saying what you think sets a stake for people to either argue or support you (LOVE this!).
  5. Have objectives and be able to measure success
  6. HAVE FUN.  If you hate walking in the door everyday, Quit.

Continue to be great!
