I will be the first to admit that I am not a "politico" but I have to tell you that I am riveted to the 2008 Presidential campaign. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that both an African-American (Barack Obama) and a woman (Hilary Clinton) are, for the first time in our history, true contenders but I think it has more to do with the currents and shifts in our society that make that possible as well as a call to action called "hope". Is it the American people’s hope that had Obama and Mike Huckabee (both of whom are, by all accounts, underdogs) rise to victory last night? It is only one night at the start of a long race but I don’t mind telling you that I am filled with hope that there is a shift in our society that brings with it limitless opportunity for women, minorities and underdogs everywhere and regardless of Presidential outcome, a tipping point is surely on it’s way.
