I often get asked about how one figures out their passion in life and one of the first things I recommend is to reconnect to their childhood.
To what they wanted to be when they grew up.
I have found over the years that whenever I interview people who are living in their greatness and I ask about their journey I often hear something that refers to their childhood. Usually they share that they always had a particular gift or that they always "knew" they wanted to do such and such.
It seems that our calling never seems to stray far from the dreams of our youngest years.
In pondering this recently, it finally hit me that the seeds of my work were also born in childhood. There were two things that I always did as a child:
1. I always wrote. I wrote every chance I could. I even wrote a book when I was in high school.
2. I always saw kids for who they wanted to be and wanted other kids to live the joy, passion and peace that I felt….even as a kid.
I don't know where either of those things came from. I just know that was who I was and what I loved to do.
And now, I make a living helping people own their greatness and I'm writing again.
I lost my voice for quite a few years but sooner or later, we have to be who were born to be.
You were born to be great.
YES, you can!
